PTF-Africa is a newly established affiliate of the Partnership for Transparency (PTF) based in Washington, DC. PTF and its global affiliates give civil society leaders the resources they need to catalyze successful citizen-led change in communities suffering from corruption and the abuse of power.
Gender-Based Violence & the Rule of Law in South Africa
South Africa has extremely high levels of domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of gender-based violence (GBV). The problem is compounded by a lack of faith in the criminal justice system, which leaves many survivors with no legal protection or recourse, despite living in a country with arguably the most progressive public policies concerning GBV on the continent.
